The means of grace and the Work
The means of grace:
Shorter Catechism answer 88: “The outward and ordinary means whereby Christ communicateth to us the benefits of redemption, are his ordinances, especially the word, sacraments, and prayer; all which are made effectual to the elect for salvation.”
If you see the 'sacraments' as the two conscious shocks then this is complete. From a Work standpoint, this meshes, and is complete. Prayer is what you have to go back to the teaching of the Bible for (or go there eventually) to see as a necessity. Fasting could be included, but it is sort of a different level of prayer. Prayer is the reins of volition of higher will.

Prayer
These three means of grace develop a regenerated individual. Make him complete.
