Idols vs. God

It's powerful and air-clearing to distinguish between fearing/revering God and fearing/revering idols.

I didn't say "man." Man is included in the better term idols.

The Bible speaks in terms of false idols (including man). This is how the Spirit manifests when it is in you: you no longer fear/revere idols but you fear/revere only God. You fear/revere the Creator rather than any part or aspect of the creation.
