Separation

[.....] And embed conscious labor/intentional suffering into your everyday awareness. Then when things get difficult observe 'it' from the internal separation vantage point of at least Observing I. This will dissolve 'it.' 

'It' can't be improved, it has to be dissolved.

That's one of the big insights. That 'it' has to be separated from and observed in difficult moments, and thus 'it' will dissolve. 'It' is not what improves. We don't try to make 'it' more conscious. 'It' has to dissolve, then Observing I and Deputy Steward and Steward and on up to Master or Real I has to become US. 

We go so long trying to improve 'it', which is not even who we are. Hence Separation being and epic level idea/practice of the Work. And in biblical language it means sanctification.

And if it sounds naive to talk about such a thing in us controlling us, yet being able to know about it, so who is talking now and so on, think of the apostle Paul talking about sin being in him, controlling him, doing what he, Paul, doesn't want to do. We're talking the same thing. Our false personality controlling us, or our fallen sinful nature controlling us. It's like a body in us. Old Adam in us. Yet when we awaken, or are regenerated, or have magnetic center, then that is the New Man in us and the new man does battle with the old man in us, so it's not silly or naive in a self-awareness sense to speak like all this.
