Two quick notes
We mentioned reasons why we stop making Work efforts. One big one I forgot about is the more we awaken the more we realize we're in a bad place. Bad place in the universe, as G. said. That is a big, depressing wall to hit. We're in a prison yard surrounded by violent lunatics. The metaphor of taking the red pill expresses the same thing. And let's not soft pedal it. We get attacked pretty aggressively. Family, strangers, you name it. Of course that friction is what we need to make big steps. Valuation (and remembering the system and how it works) is tested. Easy to fail.
The other thing is I think there is power in not looking for results. Just quietly doing the unusual things the Work teaches. Like just reading the Bible, i.e., just read it. That approach. Don't strain to get ultimate understanding (which may just be surface level intellect anyway), but just take in an ultimate influence. That is the rare thing, you are taking in an ultimate influence rather than just rotting on lower influences.
The above recognizes our circumstances as limited human beings. Of course, if we're quietly doing an awesome routine our limits may not be so limiting.
Conscious labor, intentional suffering...
