If you can think of death and...

If you can think of death - your death - and not just blank out on it; if you can think of your inevitable death and actually have some substantial sense of the reality of it; and even have some degree of vision of it, beyond the veil, then you have truly developed. I can only get this when in the third state of consciousness, but I can get hints of it then.

Ouspensky wrote that the two great mysteries are the reality of the invisible world and the mystery of death.

I'm saying this can be used as a mark of development. An asleep human being will just blank out on the fact of their death, even when directly for whatever reason contemplating it, or forced to think about it like in sickness, for instance.

Yet if you can have a real vision of your own death and it is a part of how you see things and sense and understand everything, it kind of makes complete one's overall understanding.

We can't get real information of death (or another word might be better like substantial vision of the reality of it) other than in a higher state. At least the third state of consciousness. Because it is there in our time-body afterall. It's there. We forget it probably the most, of all the things in our time-body. Yet it's there to be brought to memory.

I should add that of course you can bring something new to the reality of it. When you are a regenerated soul and you have the armor of God that is most likely something new you bring to your death. Your developed essence is also new.
