Prophet, Priest, and King

The way to think of yourself as a complete being, a Christian, and a person who knows and does the Work, is the biblical way to be: being a prophet, priest, and king.

It's funny how modern day church level Christians (the leaders and intellectuals of that level) rebuke any such talk of being those things (especially prophet). They snicker and mock as well. Then all you have to do is quote from Reformation era, and Second Reformation era theologians on being a prophet, priest, and king, and they have to be silent (they have to because they can't argue against such sources and influences).

From a Work perspective it's easy to see: a prophet is the first conscious shock category; priest is the second conscious shock category; and king is the crown, being category.

Prophet has to do with influences. The Word of God and C Influence. The higher influences accumulated from self-remembering. Etc.

Priest has to do with intentional suffering. Real sacrifice. Non-Identifying. External-Considering. Separation. Etc.

King has to do with inner command. With control of higher centers. With Real Will. Etc.

From the Systematic Theology of John Brown of Haddington: "Adoption into the family of God includes, I. Advancement to great honor. God, of his mere grace and love, reigning through the righteousness of Jesus Christ, translates us from the family of Satan into his own, in which we have him for our new-covenant Father, Christ, holy angels and saints for our spiritual brethren; and are God's prophets, priests, and kings, anointed with the same Spirit as Christ. As prophets, being enlightened in the knowledge of divine mysteries or even future events, we 1. Openly confess Christ and his truths with our mouth; entertain our neighbors with holy conference and spiritual instructions; sing the praises of God. 2. Study an holy, instructive, and exemplary practice. 3. Attest the truths of God by our sufferings. As priests, we live in familiar fellowship with God, and offer up spiritual sacrifices, intercessions, and worship to him. As kings, we have generous and noble spirits; possess royal treasures of God's word and grace; and are venerable before God and men, and dangerous to be injured; and spiritually war with, and conquer sin and Satan, and rule the world and our own spirits."
