A. W. Pink

A. W. Pink, as I've gotten to know his writings to some degree, looks like he mirrors my own take on biblical doctrine. I pulled away from that assessment awhile back when I learned he was a pre-millennialist, but recently I've read in his Divine Covenants that he came to be an amilennialist to go along with his covenant theology. But he was also not paedo or sacerdotal on the sacraments, and he didn't belong to any church - visible church - the last decade of his life. And his take on Calvinism is on-the-mark otherwise; and hardcore.

I mean, he's somebody, a theologian, that you can use to get an on-the-mark take, if you see what Calvinism is, and you also have Work understanding. Also, a not small detail, is this: prior to his conversion he was somewhat of an authority on Theosophy. And when a person is in that 'culture' they usually know more of other types of similar or related teachings. This is the 'Work' feel I get from Pink. Not so much that he had knowledge of Work ideas and practices, but that he was hovering above the Man #1,2,3 level of understanding of biblical doctrine, which is what caused all the strange friction in his life with the mainstream regarding his career and exile.

Here's a little article by his biographer announcing a new edition of his biography.
