A tender conscience means a conscience that is being unburied. Worth infinitely more than it's weight in gold. 

Discernment comes with it. The discernment for the power of true biblical doctrine, for instance. And other subtle things.

What's it done for me? My antlers are now 14 feet high and 27 feet from side to side. 

Awakened conscience is a #5 Man trait. When it's awake for more than just flashes.

I remember you taking that approach. Didn't O. say at the beginning of FW or POMPE that true psychology was the study of lying? When we start to see our own lying that is conscience starting to show. (I say conscience is just buried from the fall rather than obliterated.)

I remember too reading in one of the sources that conscience is a higher emotion. 

It also gives discernment which associates it with the Holy Spirit. Conscience may be the Throne of the Holy Spirit whereas unregenerate fallen man places Reason on that Throne.

Conscience rather than consciousness is a good shift of telos, so to speak. Arguably more sophisticated (or wily, in the Gurdjeffian sense). Kind of a different focus from higher division of intellectual center to higher division of emotional center. You need all the higher division of centers, i.e. to be in them, but higher division of emotional center is the gateway to higher emotional center. 

How would that refocusing look like? I think one way is we wouldn't put all our marbles in self-remembering in terms of seeing progress.

We still have to provoke our limits to extend our limits, but conscience can be there as a calm passenger, or pilot. 

Just focusing on that chest, or heart, area when storms are imminent, or we're in one, rather than our sight and thoughts and so on. 

Conscience is quick too. Quicker than any storm or surprise. 

So, integrating the two conscious shocks with conscience.

The Bible directs us to the heart. Biblically the heart is the mind, will, emotions, inclinations, everything. That's the area of conscience.

Maybe that's how #5 Man effects the 2nd conscious shock. Because he's operating from conscience.

We really have to take control of the clock and the calendar. Monastics did this. Maybe too much. But there's something there. 

My writing about brute self-remembering awhile back. Just pushing it into and beyond that mi-fa interval. Where things get strange and interesting. Where you don't even obsess over the second conscious shock because self-remembering takes you there and into it, and when you're truly beyond that mi-fa interval your momentum (and conscience?) handles it.
