Remembering where we are in the process
Emphasis:
"But that's the goal, provoke limits so that we can extend limits, ultimately to that second conscious shock level. ***And I think we are always closer than we think because it's really just a matter, after a certain length of history with all this, of active reasoning with ourselves and *remembering* where we are in the process. If we forget that we've made the effort to sound the first conscious shock and that we are now somewhere between it and the second conscious shock interval then of course it's easier to fall asleep and indulge negativity.***
It's like forgetting we are in the midst of climbing a mountain and thinking we are back on the valley floor, strolling through town, when in fact we are hanging off a ledge with a long way to fall. We have to finish the climb to the summit, then make the descent."
Or maybe a helicopter takes us down. I don't know what the hard descent equates to in this analogy...maybe we fly down on our own... - C.
