The counterfeit Trinity

Awhile back I wrote this:

"...and just today I saw clearly how the counterfeit Trinity of Satan - the Dragon, the Beast from the Sea (tyrannous government), and the False Prophet (false religion) - were Satan himself, Marxism, and Islam."

When I wrote it I stumbled a bit when saying the Dragon is Satan, because that is true, but it doesn't identify how he appears in this anti-Trinity. The Dragon is the Pope of Rome. Just to say that seems weak these days because its power has been so seemingly diminished. But remember the picture of Pope John Paul II kissing the Koran.

I suppose one could switch the Pope and the false doctrine of Roman Catholicism to the False Prophet role. Then make Islam the Dragon. Islam does seem like the very embodiment of Satan in action anyway. Marxism is in there, because it is ancient. It is identified as Marxism today, but it fueled the French Revolution, and it was present among the representative ideologies in the Socratic dialogues.

You can also spread it out and universalize it more. The False Prophet is all works based religion. The religion of fallen man. The Dragon is all totally hallucinogenic violence on the march. Cartoonish in its display. That is radical Islam unhinged. And the Beast from the Sea is all tyrannous government whether flying under the flag of Marxism or some kind of fascism or what have you.

In our day we definitely saw the Beast from the Sea in 20th century tyrannous regimes. No doubt. There it was.

In our day as well we can see the Dragon with his jagged bloody teeth and fire breathing evil loosed on the world in the cartoonishly evil and violent radical Islamic movements.

In our day, though, the False Prophet is not as blatant. During the Reformation it was seen more blatantly and was confronted. It burned and tortured and used state armies and police forces to coerce and so on. That was the Roman Catholic Church. False religion is more subtle to see and less blatant in its effects. We get accommodated and acclimated to it. We become ignorant regarding it by degree. Yet it's all around us. Atheism is even part of it. And it is just as deadly to the soul. Just an enslaving to the darkness of the Kingdom of Satan.
