When the towers fall
Let's be honest and look back at the fall of the two
World Trade Towers. Not just the magnitude of the
buildings, but the symbolic nature of it all was
almost overwhelming. It's easy to forget all that.
Isa 30:25 And there shall be upon every high
mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams
of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the
towers fall.
This verse is confusing if read alone. Separate out
the part about rivers and streams, which has to do
with other things. The day of the great slaughter is
a reference to Rev. 19 (starting at verse 11). Gill
states this.
None of the commentators have a clue what the 'two
towers' refers to. But we do. Aren't those two
skyscrapers rather otherworldly structures? Aren't
all skyscrapers for that matter? All you have to do
is imagine one of them standing alone on a plain to
see its otherworldly character. I once saw merely a
three-story building - a largish one - in only its
steel frame, in a flat suburb, and IT looked like some
other-worldly thing. And it was only THREE STORIES.
Imagine a structure that is 110 stories! Football
fields long and wide...
Really, just imagine a 110 story skyscraper in the
middle of a flat landscape, standing alone with no
other buildings around it or in sight. Tower of Babel
come to mind? I don't mean a direct correlation, but
I mean it would be as otherworldly as that kind of
mythic structure.
Now, the two towers that were the World Trade Towers
were rather unique even among tall buildings. You
could say they were the most symbolic for size and for
many other things (trade, economy, the city of New
York itself being arguably the symbolic city of the
world, etc.). I'm saying, if one were to look for a
real life correlation to that Isaiah 30:25 reference
to "two towers" then the two World Trade Center towers
would be pretty good - no, let's just say it - staring
you directly in the face candidates.
And they fell.
What were the odds of that? They FELL.
Gill mentioned "the antichristian kings, and their
armies" as being referenced in the part of the verse
referring to the great slaughter. Obviously, this
antichrist crisis, the big one of the end times, is
part of the fall of the "two towers" (they caused it).
We see the swarming of these antichristian forces into
all the previously protected lands. If not
antichristian in actual religion, then antichristian
in their disdain and arrogance towards Christians and
for the western culture associated with Christian
culture. Basically satanic activity. Feeling 'their
strength.'
There is also a resurgence of the Gospel and people
being regenerated, which the next verse (Isa. 30:26)
refers to regarding the light of the moon and sun
increasing. We see this too today.
But over and above all this (and I'm not really
joking) there is the fact of that rather strange thing
with the new 20 dollar bills. They came out at just
about the time of the 9/11 attack. If you fold them
in a certain way they depict the two towers after
being hit, and on the reverse side they depict the
Pentagon after it was hit. People joke about it, but
think about that. It's STRANGE. If you could fold a
20 dollar bill to depict just about anything then I'd
say no big deal, but I don't think you can do that.
(Google twenty dollar bill and World Trade Towers to
find a website showing what I'm talking about.) It's
a parlor trick type thing, yet it's also more. It's
weird. Money is weird, symbolically. It's weird in
how it is involved with so many people, how it
represents so much. It has an essential nature of
carrying meanings other artifacts can't carry. But I
digress. I'm only half joking about mentioning the 20
dollar bill thing...
ps- Oh, the point is: the Rev. 19 events were
inaugurated by the fall of the two towers...
